A sensitive Raman Spectrometer has been constructed using a diode laser for the excitation source. The design incorporates a novel reflection system that improves the signal to noise ratio an order of magnitude. The sensitivity and range of the instrument is illustrated by measuring the Raman spectra of several common laboratory reagents.
