We present two helical-chain Cu(II) polymeric chain complexes. In the first one, the Cu(II) complex of 4(5)-imidazolecarboxaldehyde and â-alanine as a polymeric cation chain is balanced by isolated perchlorate units along the chain. In this polymer, each two units are connected by the syn-anti carboxylate-bridge. In the second one, the cholorocopper(II) complex of â-alanine is a neutral polymer of [CuCl2(CO2CH2CH2NH3)] units. Each two units are connected by the syn-syn carboxylate-bridge.
