| The Kids and Chemistry program is a community outreach program that allows chemists to do hands-on science activities with elementary school students. The East Stroudsburg University student affiliate chapter has recently implemented this program into its regular activities. After a few successful classroom visits, the chapter has learned some valuable lessons in working with elementary school children. This poster will present the struggles and obstacles that our chapter was faced with in preparing and implementing the activities, such as making sure we were properly prepared and that we had enough helpers. Furthermore it will discuss the solutions that we came up with to overcome them. |
