Vanadyl complexes are known for their insulin-mimetic properties. We offer imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine as an alternative class of tridentate (N,N,O) ligands for this purpose. We report the synthesis and characterization of new Substituted-2-(1-(pyridin-2-yl)imidazo[1,5-a]pyridin-3-yl)phenols and their vanadyl complexes. Various X-ray crystal structures of these complexes are reported.
