DNA Based nanocrystal assembly for chemical sensors

We report on studies of discrete assemblies consisting of a few nanocrystals held in proximity to each other by oligonucleotides. These assemblies consist of Au nanocrystals of varying size as well as of colloidal semiconductor quantum dots. The assemblies provide unique spectral signatures in light scattering and luminescence measurements.
