General chemistry curriculum, the most challenging topics: A three-semester study

In order to identify (from the perspective of the students) the most challenging topics among the various topics covered in the general chemistry curriculum, a three-semester survey of general chemistry students was conducted. The findings suggest that Equilibrium and Electrochemistry appear to be the most challenging topics. The findings, as well as, recommendations for making these topics more appealing to the students will be presented.
