| Percy Lavon Julian enrolled in the preparatory division of DePauw University in the fall of 1916 and graduated Phi Beta Kappa four years later, demonstrating exceptional ability, growth and accomplishment. His work at DePauw as student, postdoctoral research associate, loyal alumnus, and dedicated trustee for over fifty years will be reviewed. Excerpts from the information about his life and accomplishments as a chemist, public citizen, and distinguished American scientist, including those drawn from the Julian Archives at DePauw enhanced by items compiled seven years ago for the Julian Centennial, the National Chemical Historic Landmark Site dedication at DePauw in May 1999, and from the NOVA special will be presented.
