Electrochemical synthesis has been demonstrated to be a useful method for the synthesis of manganese oxides with nano-fibrous structure. The kinetic of the methane coupling reaction has been studied in the presence of an alkali salt supported on nano-fibrous manganese oxide as catalyst. The C2 hydrocarbon reaction displays a high selectivity.
