| The NSF sponsored Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program provides participants with training in a large, active research-oriented environment, and the University of Florida has operated both a domestic and French exchange REU program since 1997. The foremost activity is the research project, lasting the duration of the program. Over the past few years, domestic participants are registered as part of the University of Florida's Honor's Program and gain some international perspective by living and working with excellent peers from France for the summer. The US/France REU Site chooses superior advanced-level undergraduates from around the country to participate in research projects in some of the best research groups in France. Through formal agreements signed between UF and a number of French institutions, US/France REU participants are formally registered at the Ecole Normale Supeieure, the University Pierre and Marie Curie (Paris), the University Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg), University Paul-Sabatier (Toulouse) or a number of other major institutions in France. |
