The new redox system of V5+-V4+ which can generate hydrogen and sulfur by indirect electrolysis H2S was discussed. The absorption conditions and absorption kinetics has been investigated. For absorption reaction, the absorption efficiency of H2S was increased when the reaction temperature rose. The absorption efficiency was increased with the concentration of V5+ which was below 0.6mol/L and gradually stable when the concentration of V5+ in absorbent exceeded 0.6mol/L. The concentration of V4+ made no difference for absorption process. The absorption process was controlled by mass transfer and the absorption reaction was rapid. The descending sequence of the influence of different factors on H2S absorption velocity was as following: the concentration of V5+, the concentration of H2S, temperature, the concentration of H+.
