| Nanomaterials are expected to be widely used in paints, coatings, and plastics applications in the near future. Improving or modifying polmer properties with nanoscale metalloxides is one of the first areas where nanoscience turns into nonotechnology. Use of, for example, UV absorbing materials in the nanoscale can not only improve longterm stability but at the same time can combine this improvement with high-gloss highly transparent coatings. Technologies to stabilize, and if required, functionalize these material along with application results will be presented. |
