Entrepreneurial Medicinal and Polymer Science (EMPS) is a joint NSF Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) project between the University of Southern Mississippi's School of Polymers and High Performance Materials and The University of Mississippi's School of Pharmacy. This interdisciplinary degree program uniquely combines science with training in business and entrepreneurial skills. IGERT is designed to build leaders and creative thinkers through scientific interdisciplinary training, business modules, and intense interactions with business leaders worldwide. Successful participants will develop team based research projects combining expertise from both schools and is designed to meet America's need for scientists capable of translating research into new technologies and new business.
