The structure analysis of multicompartment micelles is an extremely difficult problem. Typically only a combination of different methods gives a realistic estimation of their structures. The use of small-angle X-ray scattering techniques and light scattering methods are two important methods for the characterization of multicompartment micelles. Possibilities of using synchrotron radiation such as available at the Berliner Electron Synchrotron (BESSY II) may help in the near future to a get better insight into the internal structure of this special type of nanoparticles.
