For the twenty-five years that I knew him, I watched Ted Williams teach. He taught his students, of course, but he also taught his daughters, his colleagues, and his friends, and their daughters and colleagues and friends. He also taught the institutions with which he interacted – colleges, universities, professional societies, foundations – as well as the city and neighborhood in which he grew up and returned to whenever he was in the area. The lessons were many and varied, and this presentation will reflect on some that were uniquely Ted – the master teacher.
