The National Hydrogen Program's goal of doubling the 2005 levels of hydrogen production by 2025 has created a strong need for identifying alternate hydrogen production sources. The overarching goal of this project is to develop and demonstrate a 3-kW compact PEM power system that incorporates a single-unit membrane reactor in a hydrogen generator capable of processing multiple fuels. Promising Mo-Ni catalysts have been tested with activities that approach equilibrium conversions over a range of operating conditions. These successful compositions will be incorporated into FeCrAlY foams and tested for reforming activity.
