We study the drift of a gas of 3-level atoms near a magnetized surface or an evanescent-wave field, as well as surface light-induced drift, using the model of strong collisions. Analytical expressions for the magnitude of the flux and drift velocity are presented and analyzed numerically for the particular case of excitation in a semi-infinite velocity interval.
