| The structure factor S(q) of non-ionic swollen lamellar phases of surfactant tetraethylene glycol monododecyl ether (C12E4) on addition of charge sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) were studied by Small Angle Neutron Scattering (SANS) technique. The effects of varying charge at different temperatures will be reported. Investigations have been carried out in both the water-rich and the oil-rich parts of the phase diagram. Membrane undulations of the same non-ionic surfactant C12E4 oriented multi-layers bare and on addition of charge were also studied by the measurement of S(q,t), the intermediate scattering function, by Neutron Spin Echo spectroscopy (NSE). Modification of the elastic constant of the bare lamellar phase on addition charge based on the results of both techniques will be discussed. |
