A new type of neodymium ion sieve and its characteristic parameters were investigated. Based on the modified substrates, the sieve units with excellent selectivity are prepared by controlling crystallization on the surface of the ions. Moreover, the new formed ion sieve has a lot of absorption cavities, which have the same or similar ion radius with neodymium. It is shown that the ion sieve has a great exchange capability of the neodymium ion in the acid environment. The mechanism of removing Neodymium ions is a typical chemical adsorption. The static absorption capability is 12.4mg/g. Even after five exchange drench circles, the ion sieve's exchange capability, exchange ratio and drench ratio were not declined. The average exchange ratio and drench ratio of the ion sieve is over 92%.
