FTIR studies of porphyrin containing monolayers on Si(100) surfaces

Covalently bonded monolayers of redox-active Zn containing porphyrins with variety of organic linkers were prepared by thermal assembly on to hydrogen terminated Si(100) surfaces from dilute solution. The porphyrin monolayers were characterized using standard electrochemical methods. Molecular orientation in the monolayer films as a function of molecular coverage and organic linker type has been investigated by attenuated total reflection spectroscopy.
