| Characterization of single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) material is carried out using a variety of analytical techniques and protocols are established for each of these methods to standardize these measurements. The NASA-JSC protocol for characterization of SWCNTs involve methods to establish homogeneity, metal content and amorphous carbon content as well as dispersability in liquids. This protocol is a compilation of standardized procedures for SEM, TEM, TGA, Raman and UV-VIS spectrometry developed. This is used to compare unpurified as well as purified SWCNT material from different sources. |
