Synthesis and characterization of a modified-oligo-pyrrole-terminated dendrimer as an encapsulation/release system

The area of molecule encapsulation and release systems has recently become a widely studied field. These host/guest systems have potential applications in the biological and pharmaceutical world. There are many vehicles for encapsulation systems being researched. We chose as our host a modified oligo-pyrrole-terminated poly(propylene imine) dendrimer with a diaminobutane core. Our host system will be water-soluble with the ability to encapsulate guest molecules and release these guests upon demand. This presentation will focus on the synthesis and characterization of our water-soluble encapsulation/release vehicle.
