Today's commercial diapers contain materials designed and manufactured for high performance in arenas such as absorbency, breathability, and elastomeric "stretch". Polymers are often the material of choice; polyacrylates, polyolefins and thermoplastic elastomers are used commercially in the examples above. Here we outline several examples of how we integrate polymer science with design for cost effect results.
