A novel NOx removal method using discharge plasma and electrophoresis for diesel exhaust is proposed in this study. NO is oxidized to NOx using the pulsed discharge plasma, and then is adsorbed to the adsorption materials. Using the electrophoresis, recovery of the adsorbing ability of the adsorbents can be made by separating and concentrating the adsorbed nitrate ions in positive electrode region. The concentrated nitrate ions in the positive electrode region can further be reduced using electrical discharge under low oxygen concentration. In this paper, details of the method will be reported.
